garage, made us dinner reservations and booked a massage, all with good cheer. She left us a basket stocked with cheese and a traditional Dutch breakfast of bread, butter and chocolate and anise-flavored sprinkles. The apartment is just a few blocks from the town center, where you can wander in and out of shops, bakeries, shwarma spots and coffee shops for hours. Jolanda directed us to the “foodie” street (including the best herring!) and showed us how to celebrate Kings Day. If you are someone who enjoys meeting and talking to new people while traveling, Jolanda and Erwin are eager to swap information and viewpoints, but aren’t intrusive. All in all, a top both AirBnB experience.“

Netflix op TV, een welkomstwoordje van Jolanda op de typemachine. Er waren leuke tips van bezienswaardigheden op papier gezet (fijn om mee te nemen voor onderweg en voor elk wat wils!) plus een plattegrondje van de stad. Fijn om zo te starten. Prettig contact en de bereidheid om het ons naar de zin te maken. Ook belangrijk voor ons was dat alles in goede nieuwstaat was; wat betekende: fijn schoon en geriefelijk, ja, het was heel goed toeven. Tot slot was het een rustige buurt; geen auto’s of andere vorm van geluidsoverlast. Al met al TIPTOP!“

and local culinary hero, and Erwin being a Viticulturist (Vinoloog), it was no surprise that their special ‘Groene Hart’ Breakfast – which we opted for – was delicious and full of local products and ingredients. We enjoyed Gouda, very cozy (or as the Dutch say; “gezellig”), with nice terraces, wonderful restaurants and historic buildings. The restaurant suggestions we got from Erwin and Jolanda where very helpful and spot on! The B&B is located at a very tranquil street in the heart of Gouda’s historic city center, with everything – including the train station – within a very short walking distance. We used Gouda as a very convenient base for our day trips to Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Rotterdam, all of which are only a short train ride away. We highly recommend staying at Jolanda and Erwin’s B&B should you want to visit any of these cities! Make sure you ask Erwin about special wines from his private collection!“

voorzien en is zeer sfeervol ingericht! Gouda is erg gezellig, leuke terrasjes en heerlijke restaurants. De tips die we van Jolanda en Erwin kregen, hebben we benut en waren zeker de moeite waard. Gouda ligt erg centraal. We hebben uitstapjes gemaakt naar Den Haag, Scheveningen en Rotterdam. Oudejaarsavond hebben we de lekkerste oliebollen gekregen van Jolanda en Erwin. Kortom, deze B&B is een echte aanrader. We hebben genoten!“
